Who We Are

Who We Are

Founded in 2022 by a couple whose daughter is on the IDD waiver, Mandala was built from personal experience and deep empathy. The founders understand firsthand the challenges and daily responsibilities of caring for a loved one who requires 24/7 support.
Mandala’s Co-Founder and Executive Director is a social worker with over 20 years of experience supporting vulnerable populations across psychiatric residential treatment facilities, behavioral health centers, crisis intervention services, child welfare agencies, and medical hospitals. As a medical case manager in local hospital emergency departments and family practice, she coordinated safe discharge planning and outpatient services for medically complex adults.

Before founding Mandala Community, she worked as a clinical case manager with a Managed Care Organization (MCO), providing four years of specialized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Her leadership combines clinical and medical expertise with a commitment to person-centered, community-based care.

Our Mission
“Mandala Community will provide an empathetic, compassionate, and nurturing environment within an integrative community setting enriching daily living, championing individuality, and providing opportunities to engage within the world based upon the individual’s needs and desires while honoring personal values and goals with dignity and respect.”
The Reason of the Mandala

Mandalas are sacred and date back to ancient times. They can be found everywhere and anywhere in our world today. Historically, Buddhist monks would draw intricate geometrical designs in the sand as an exercise for enlightenment to represent a “perfect universe.”

Carl Jung, a well-known psychologist with vast research on therapeutic interventions and movements, stated the Mandala is an inner representation of self. It is the circle of life, the view of how we see the world, or the eye of our universe representing insight, awareness, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding – it can be all of those, some of those, or so much more.

The Mandala represents our vision for the community – ensuring everyone is valued as their true inner selves – as every human must feel cherished, validated, accepted, and treasured. Mandala properties have been curated with the intention of our services; dynamic, compassionate, creative, and safe with the pursuit of what every creature wants: individuality and love.
